In the evening of 15th August, the parish youth organised a unique and exciting leg-cricket tournament. Though many of the rules initially seemed impossible to put into practice, they turned out to be the very rules that made the event so thrilling. A total of 11 teams participated, each one playing with great enthusiasm and skill.
The evening began with a sportsman’s prayer, setting the right spirit for the tournament. This was followed by the official opening of the match, done by our youth animator, Fr. Rocklin, who kicked off the ball to mark the start of the first game.
The members of the PPC ran a canteen, and all proceeds will go towards the renovation of the parish hall. Many parishioners also brought homemade sweets to the church, offering a delightful variety such as donne, patoleo, alle nenne and soojie, which added to the festive spirit.
During the semi-finals, a round of housie (Jaldi-Nine) was also played, adding even more excitement to the evening.
The finals saw a fierce contest between Ghorbhat and Mainath Bhatti, with Ghorbhat ultimately lifting the cup.
It was an enjoyable and memorable evening, and everyone had a wonderful time.
