Grandparents’ Day Celebration – Feast of St. Joachim and St. Anne
On Sunday, 27 July 2025, we joyfully celebrated the feast of St. Joachim and St. Anne, the parents of Mother Mary and the grandparents of Jesus. Alongside honoring these saints, we also celebrated the precious gift of our own grandparents. In a touching gesture, grandparents were seated in the front pews during the Eucharistic celebration, while the catechism children took the back seats.
Fr. Rocklin offered a special prayer for all grandparents and the elderly, and during the homily, deacon Nion shared about the inspiring lives of Sts. Joachim and Anne, reminding our grandparents of the special role they play in their respective families.
After communion, children presented their grandparents with handmade cards and flowers. Those without grandparents lovingly gave their cards to elderly parishioners who don’t have grandchildren of their own. The celebration concluded with snacks and a thoughtful gift for each grandparent to take home, making it a truly memorable and heartwarming day.
