On 22nd February, the First Sunday of Lent, the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman organized the Walking Pilgrimage to Sancoale. The theme for this year was “Kristachim Pattlavdaram, Bhorvanxeachim Yatrekaram” – “Followers of Christ, Pilgrims of Hope.”
From our parish, Holy Trinity Church, over 70 parishioners participated in the pilgrimage. The walk commenced at 2:00 a.m. from Goa Velha. Along the way, parishioners prayerfully recited the Rosary and sang hymns in devotion. The procession was led by a parishioner carrying the Cross, with each participant taking turns to carry it as a sign of shared faith and sacrifice.
After a two-hour walk, the pilgrims reached Sancoale, where they were served black tea and hot cross buns. Adoration began at 5:00 a.m., followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 6:00 a.m.
The pilgrimage beautifully symbolized unity, faith and prayerful intentions.
