All Souls Day – 2025

All Souls’ Day – November 2

All Souls’ Day is a solemn day of prayer and remembrance in the Roman Catholic Church, dedicated to all the faithful departed who are undergoing purification in Purgatory. On this day, the Church unites in offering Masses, prayers, and sacrifices for these souls, asking God to grant them eternal rest and peace in His presence.

It follows All Saints’ Day (November 1) and reminds us of the deep bond between the living and the dead — the Communion of Saints. As we remember our loved ones who have gone before us, we express both sorrow and hope: sorrow for their absence, and hope in God’s promise of eternal life.

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.”
